There is a certain beauty the way polished metal reflects light. From a photograph of ornate kings cutlery I embrace these highlights and reflections to create an entirely new surface.
This antistatic approach to design creates an abstract object that completely contradicts the original piece in several ways. Whereas the traditional cutlery was designed to consider ergonomics and functionality, the new objects discard these factors and communicate only what information the original photograph provided.
